★MDF Board (Medium Density Fiberboard)
Medium-density fiberboard is an engineered wood product made by breaking down hardwood or softwood residuals into wood fibres,
often in a defibrator, combining it with wax and a resin binder, and forming it into panels by applying high temperature and pressure.
MDF is generally denser than plywood.
Also due to its non-directional grain structure,
MDF is ideal for cutting, machining and drilling without splinters or chipping.
The smooth surface makes it a good choice for simple interior design pieces that will be painted, cabinets, shelving, mouldings etc.

✔ Medium density fiberboard (MDF) is a composite product used in many home and professional projects,
such as furniture, cabinetry, flooring and even speaker boxes due to its smooth finish, machinability, strength and consistency.
✔ MDF contains no voids, and will deliver sharp edges with no tearout. MDF is well damped acoustically,
thus making it a suitable material for speaker enclosures. MDF is widely used in the manufacturing of
furniture, kitchen cabinets, moldings, millwork, door parts, and laminate flooring.
✔ MDF boards can be used as temporary flooring, cut into attractive boards. As MDF has a shorter shelf life than real wood,
this is not a permanent installation. It’s also worth remembering that MDF and water do not mix.
✔ MDF is seen as a cheaper alternative to solid wood and is often perceived to be lower in quality.
